Grand Tetons restaurantsIn order as you scroll down, Jackson Lake Lodge Mural Room, Jackson Lake Lodge Pioneer Grill, Colter Bay Ranch House, Colter Bay Cafe Court, Leek's Pizza, Dornan's Pizza and Pasta, Signal Mountain Peaks Restaurant (with links to most 2014 menus included) and a few notes about restaurants in the town of Jackson.
Restaurants in Grand Teton National Park are non-smoking, most others in Wyoming and Montana allow
smoking. Last we heard, Jackson still did not have a complete non-smoking policy, but most restaurants have voluntarily gone non-smoking.
We often get takeout or pre-made food at the Jackson Whole Grocer in town. Go to http://jacksonwholegrocer.com/departments/kitchen/ and click on see menu(s).
The Jackson Lake Lodge Mural Room has high floor to ceiling windows with an unobstructed view out over Jackson Lake. Sunsets are great, as are lightning storms. (2014, much the same menu as 2009 & 10 & 11 & 12 &13) Dinner: entrees $21 - $44, beef tenderloin, prime rib, salmon, elk loin, trout, chicken. Appetizers ($12 -14), pan-fried green hatch chile crab cakes; scallops; marinated portobello. Soups, ($8 and 12). Salads ($9 - $11).
In fall, because it's the end of the season, some years they run out of the butter portions shaped like a moose. (But in the fall there are fewer crowds and lots more parking.) Reservations are advised even in the off-season.
Mural Room breakfast buffet 2014, $17, with the moose shaped waffles. It's not at all as extravagant as the one at the Ahwahnee in Yosemite, but it's also not $50 +.
Next door to the Mural Room, the Pioneer Grill has counter service and takeout from (2014) 6 a.m.(?) to 9:30 p.m. Fountain ice cream specials. Dinners can include sandwiches, burgers, salads and entrees with soup or salad: steak, trout, meatloaf, fried chicken. Salads including a taco salad, chef salad and classic caesar with or without chicken or salmon. Lunch includes burgers, cheese steak, other sandwiches. Sides for lunch or dinner include fries, coleslaw, potato salad.
To find each of these, look for the black and white aerial photo at: Jackson Lake Lodge vicinity.
Jackson Lake Lodge also offers, in season, dinner ($62, 2014) and breakfast ($40, 2014) cruises on the lake.
A short walk from the cabins where we usually stay, Colter Bay Ranch House (through 2008 we knew it as the Colter Bay Chuck Wagon Steak and Pasta House) (2014, much the same menu as 2009 & 10 & 11 & 2012 &13) dinner entrees include steak, trout, ribs, meat loaf, chicken. $17 to $29 Buffet breakfast (2014) $14 and a la carte. Typical lunch and salad bar/desserts. Large parties of 8 or more (like ours) are charged a 18% gratuity.
Next door, June to early September, Colter Bay Cafe Court open (the 2013 menu was till online in August 2014) with more burgers, sandwiches/subs/wraps, salads, (some fast grab and go).
