Two club officers who are experienced paddlers (including kayaking on the club between-summer-and-fall trip to Grand Teton National Park) assisted in the teaching and had fun paddling, too:

For one of the paddling practices, kayaking partners practiced using their paddles in tandem, standing in pairs in the way they would be seated in the kayak (front and rear) so they could start get their paddling stroke matched: (photographer Carolyn Zhao)

We unloaded and lined up the kayaks before taking them down the dock, so as to stay out of the way of others (as much as possible) who might be using the dock . The tiny black dot near the top of the right hand electrical tower is a Raven nest: (photographer Carolyn Zhao)

Carrying the kayaks down the ramp to the dock -the stickers you see on the side of the blue kayak are permits from Grand Teton National Park from the many years the kayaks have been used there on our between-summer-and-fall-quarter trip. (photographer Carolyn Zhao)

There is at least one person on the dock holding on to an end of the kayak, while paddlers get in, with the first paddler holding on to the dock to steady the boat:
