get a money order to pay for an Outdoor Club trip

De Anza College Student Accounts, where students previously went to pay for an event, has either not been open, or not open enough hours, so people can’t go into the on-campus Student Accounts office and pay with cash or a credit card as easily as they used to,

and the club has had to pay toooooo many check bouncing fees, so we have not accepted personal checks for years.

Students need to get a money order (or cashiers check)
and bring it when they come to sign up for De Anza College Outdoor Club events.

You can get a money order at any United States Post Office.
Find a Post Office at:

Look at the webpage for the Post Office you choose to go to for:

“Services at this Location, Service hours may vary.”
and scroll down to see if they offer “Money Orders (Domestic)”

(The fee you pay for the U.S.P.S. money order is based on the money order dollar amount.
As of early 2024 the U.S. Post office charges $2.10 for $0.01 to $500.00 amount money orders.)

See how-to-buy one details at:
https://www.usps.com/shop/money-orders.htm )

PLEASE remember, you are NOT asking the Post Office or bank to SEND the money order anywhere,
you will get it and bring it with you to the campus when you sign up / pay for the trip.

Sometimes you can get a money order or cashiers check with no service charge at your bank
(if you are a preferred customer).

(Some places charge $12.50, or even more, so you should find a post office or shop around.)
