Yosemite previous driving routes notes

This webpage is for me to store photos, html for driving route descriptions I had at this website before the new

traffic plan came into effect, in case it is only in effect through the summer of 2021.

For the new traffic plan, the park service said: “This pilot will be in place at least until August” (2021) and a later announcement in the Yosemite Daily report said “the pilot will continue throughout the summer through approximately September 15.”

The directional sign you see, right in front of you is below:

Turn right and circle around Yosemite Village day-use parking.

Please note that the round about you are approaching (you will be on the road at the bottom left of the photo below)

only has one-way traffic in a counterclockwise direction,

and has YIELD signs for all vehicles entering the roundabout (but not all drivers yield).

The directional sign you see as you drive along the side of the roundabout is below:

Enter the round-about,

and circle along the right side of it, exiting at the north end.

Again, please note, the text above in blue type is previous driving directions from before May 19, 2021.

All roads leading into Yosemite Valley merge on to Southside Drive,

When you come from Southside Drive and make a left across Sentinel Bridge, go past shuttle stop 11, the directional sign you see, right in front of you, coming to this map / to the road around the Yosemite Village Day Use parking, is below.

Also to the left, but not mentioned on this sign, is Camp 4.
